Onsite Certification Courses

HARP can provide certification prep courses onsite in your community, First Nation, company, or on a regional basis. This training is cost-effective by allowing staff to be able to complete duties (or be available should the need arise) and attend, reducing travel costs, or sharing the price between communities. Our courses are designed for adult learners and prepare the students for writing provincial certification exams. HARP constructed these in similar disciplines but also kept traditional courses. The available training includes our Class 1 WT / WD; Class 1 WWT / WWC; Class 2 WT / WD; Class 2 WWT / WWC; Class 1 & 2 WD; Class 1 & 2 WWC; and the Class 1 & 2 WWT courses.

Public Works Supervisor (PWS) Training – Coming Soon

HARP Solutions Inc. is proud to be developing the Public Works Supervisor I, II, and III training program in partnership with the Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba Chapters of the Canadian Public Works Association (APWA).

This initiative will provide consistent, high-quality leadership and supervisory training for current and emerging public works leaders. Built as an educational framework, the new curriculum will be tailored specifically to the operational, regulatory, and organizational realities faced by municipal public works departments in Western Canada. The program will feature three progressive levels - PWS I, PWS II, and PWS III - each consist of 30 hours of in-person instruction designed to support professionals training from operations into supervisory and management roles. Participants will gain practical knowledge in leadership, municipal operations, asset management, safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance, all delivered through engaging, adult-focused learning methods.

Drawing on decades of real-world public works experience and training expertise, HARP’s approach focuses on practical application, interactive learning, and content that directly supports day-to-day municipal operations. This new program will strengthen supervisory capacity, support workforce development, and help municipalities across the Prairies build the next generation of public works leaders.

Expected launch: Fall 2026
